How to fit a shoe with an orthotic *insole*?
Getting school shoes correct is so important because children wear them 38 out of the 52 weeks of the year. While their muscles and bones continue to develop, a well structured, supportive footwear can help them make the best start in life and prevent any problems that may arise when they are older. But what does a supportive shoe mean?
A supportive shoe:
-
Has a mechanism for securing the shoe to the foot effectively - e.g. laces or velcro strap.
-
Slight heel to support the natural arch shape of the foot.
-
Look for a toe box that is a similar shape to the foot, avoid pointed shoes!
-
The sole of the shoe should not bend under pressure, it should be well structured and rigid.

Important Notice - the more expensive the shoe is, doesn't mean the better the shoe is!
Do not be lead by price! Go for what fits best!
